Hola. I'm Claudio Vallejo. And I love making software.
I'm originally from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. A city bordering the Southernmost tip of Texas. Fun fact: I crossed the border every morning, kindergarten through high school, to go to school in Brownsville, Texas.
I currently live in Brooklyn. And I cross the Brooklyn Bridge almost every morning to go to work in Manhattan. Working in person is one of my favorite things about creating software. Close second to crossing bridges.
I'm a software engineer at Opus Training helping enterprise businesses manage and scale training operations.
I joined Opus after 5 years of working as a software designer at Vital Strategies designing simple.org and a software designer at Managed by Q.
My favorite projects are the projects where I take an idea from design concept to production. I'm always curious and always learning. My favorite learning method is building things. Which is why I'm always working on side projects. Exploring with new ideas, refining my ideas, and deepening my understanding of how technology works.
My favorite recent side projects have been a web/iOS app I use to keep track of my gym workouts and a text-extraction pipeline to anchor my LLM conversations on source material and deepen my understanding of new subjects I'm learning about.
If you're in Brooklyn and want to grab a coffee you can find me on X or send me an email at claudio@c14.mx.
